Thank you for helping us celebrate
The sun was shining for our celebration day at Hoole Community Centre on the 8th of March. This was the culmination of over 3 years of work by many people and it felt very special to gather together to celebrate. We welcomed partners from across the Dee Estuary to come and help us showcase all the estuary has to offer.

We also had family friendly fun from Froggle Parties and Cheshire Cat Face Painting and refreshments provided by Hoole Community Café! Finally, a huge thank you to Mandy and Paul, two volunteers who greeted everyone with a smile and were so helpful and generous with their time on the day.

Celebrating Our Dee Estuary
The celebration event at Hoole Community Centre for the Our Dee Estuary Project was a success, bringing together a diverse group of project partners, volunteers and organisations to showcase the progress we have all made over the last three years.
The event highlighted a wide range of achievements, from hands on conservation efforts and habitat restoration efforts at specific sites and reserves along the Dee Estuary and surrounding areas, to biological recording, species specific surveys and habitat mapping.
Our volunteers and the public have played a key role in these accomplishments through various engagement events, developing connections and deeper understanding to the estuary as well as establishing strong networks among communities and partners that are expected to continue working together for the sustainable future of the estuary.
The day was filled with a variety of activities, including children’s entertainment and film showings, which illustrated the project’s impact and brought to light the collective efforts of everyone involved – it was a real highlight seeing everything we have achieved on a big screen with the passing local community stopping by to watch this with a cuppa and learning about what the project has achieved.

The legacy of Our Dee Estuary
Working on the Our Dee Estuary Project has been a real pleasure and seeing how many people turned up to celebrate with us and have supported us in countless ways throughout the project has made us proud of what has been achieved.
Our number one goal was always to unite people who live, work on, and appreciate the Dee Estuary. To work together to safeguard and advocate for its special places, species and meaning to each of us.
The celebration event was a great reminder of the impact the project has had. Seeing friends and colleagues talking and sharing experiences and ideas, leaving the day with newfound links and ideas to take forward. We can see how this has only been the start, and that many good things will grow out of this project.
Thank you all for being a part of this journey and for being the ones to carry its legacy forward.
